I found this necklace last week and have worn it already a few times. I believe it might be from the mid to late 1980’s. It is marked “Mexico” and “925”and has some other marks as well. The other marks, however, are hard to read. I think It is marked with T for Taxco.
Thanks for looking:)
Wonderful mexican necklace! I love it! It´s an unusual "organic" design for being a mexican piece, according to me :)
Thanks so much for your nice comment, Elisabethan:)
Agree with Elisabethan, it is unusual for Mexican design. Beautiful work! :)
Can you use a magnifier and get a closer image of the marks? I have alot of Taxco items and am familiar with their marks. Thanks.
Thanks a lot, katherinescollections.
Efesgirl, I'll try my best and let you know:)
It looks like TM 26. It also as the mark MEXICO and what looks like CAN 925. I just hope it's not plated LOL - I would still love it but maybe a little bit less.
TM-26 means that the silversmith with the intitals TM was the 26th person to register at the Mexican Assay Office. No idea about CAN, so it's probably not CAN... :-)
Thanks, Efesgirl:)
Hello again! There is a very similar necklace amongst the completed ebay adds here on CW.
