A decanter and a flask by Tsugaru Vidro, both in their signature colours. Both are also very Japanese is style and use!

Tsugaru are pretty keen on the second glass gather ; these two actually have a third gather, a difficult process to keep tidy.

If you are wondering about my title there is a reason for it.
Tsugaru Vidro (after the Portugese for glass) is the correct name for the company.
The Japanese colloquially call the company Tsugaru beauty Idro.

The large decanter is 28cm (11in), the flask 16cm (6in).

Vet has kindly advised me that Vidro is Portugese for glass, not Dutch as I had thought.
He also queried the Japanese colloquialism bidoro for vidro. V is not a native sound for Japanese speakers and they have difficulty saying it. Either they drop the sound or make a b sound. In Japanese also there is rarely two consonants sounded together so a vowel will be inserted. Therefore idro is sounded idoro, Kosta is Kosuta etc. Vidro then is pronounced bidoro.

Working it is Karen lol. I recently saw an outrageous Japanese vase at auction. Unfortunately, it was from an overseas house (somewhere in Europe I can't recall), and the cost plus import fees would have exceeded the stateside price for the piece. Someday...
