While doing a bit of research on this piece I found a similar piece from an eBay seller that sums up my feelings. Baseball, Apple Pie and Hot Dogs. Along with patriotic pride and all that. Please excuse the explorer Scout for saluting with his left hand as his right arm was injured saving an orphan from being hit by a bus.
As can be seen on the back of this plaque it was given to Val Harrison a pack master. I am thinking Val was or is male as the women were called den mothers.
My skill in vintage items tells me this is from 1956. That and it says 1956 on the back.
This is not a unique piece, the Boy Scouts had it produced with variations as award for service above and beyond or just being there and so on.
Oh so well dated!!
Pretty cool despite the injured arm.
Thank you very kindly racer4four for your kind compliment.
