How should I look after this art deco room screen

I love this room screen that I bought at auction years ago. My question is how should i go about preserving and maintaining it? There seems to be the front fabric, then paper and then the back fabric. The front fabric is still hanging on in there but the paper and back fabric don't look so special to me. I don't know whether it's best to keep what original bits I have and fix them back in place or remove bits and add new or what. Also I have no idea if I should attempt to clean anything!

I imagine it was for a bedroom but would be interested if anyone thinks different. I don't know if it is English, European or otherwise?

Any information or ideas most welcomed.
