My husband and I found this while collecting sea glass at the southern most point of the south island new zealand. Have been told it's a plumb bob but can't find any with stones set in them. It's brass with a painted coating worn nearly right off. Measures 5.5cm long and weighs approx 100grams.

I would agree but the end cap is missing. Most likely a plumb bob
