Hi, I hope some one can help me on here, I am trying to work out if this antique oil lamp is for use with the Railway or for some other use.
It has several unusual features, 3 of the lens openings are capable of inserting blanking discs into them each disc has 2 fine slots in to reduce the amount of light given out, it also has a cranking handle mechanism to open and close a coloured filter over the only fixed clear lens. It was made by a French Company called Gillot & Forrest in Paris. Any help would be much appriciated. I tried to get the images to become portrate but didn't work out.
    Many thanks
    Tim
