This Loetz vase is a Koloman Moser design for the retailer Bakalowits and Son, documented form #85/3782 circa 1900. He is is believed to have designed no more than 35 pieces for Loetz from 1900-03. Moser is recognized as one of the foremost artists of the Vienna Secession movement and was also a co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte.

While this vase isn't covered in a flamboyant decoration, its the aesthetic beauty of the form and surface along with the technical craftsmanship of the piece that makes it important.

The vase is optic ribbed 16 times and the surface is a hammered Martele that fades from bright pink to light green at the base. The rim is factory fire polished and the pontil is ground and polished. It has significant presence on display due to its combined height and width. It stands 19.8cm-7.8" tall. It is 17cm- 6.8" wide
