This is a post to follow up Marty's Aus. 155 post. It's always nice when you can find additional examples of a newly discovered decor to back up the first. Congratulations to you both. I have added a photo of the mention of this decor in the back of the Cantz Loetz book, p. 323. This is Andy Jelcic's vase and his comments:
First Marty published his vase, sensing it could be Loetz. Then I remembered seeing this decor somewhere, in a bad photograph, and lingering over it and asking myself if it could be Loetz. It was an unreserved auction and I decided to sacrifice some money for research purposes. Other bidders did not really believe in it, so I got it. After it arrived, I wrote to the group: it is old, it is genuine, it is Loetz. Then Tony hinted it could be Ausf. 154 or 155 and Warren (as usual) nailed it with the help of Cantz and shape cross-reference.
Marty: when I decided to buy the vase for research purposes, I told the group that they owed me a beer should the vase prove to be some new rubbish, as a consolation. Now I guess that beer is on you.
Fantastic !! I just held my one up to the screen with an enlarged image from above so they were about the same size and they looked fab together !!!
Hi Andy , I think you owe me a Beer as well for watering your appetite with my one : ) . So I suggest we shout each other a few rounds if we ever get to meet . ( which I hope we do ) . And Warren this goes for you too! I already owe Tony some good Ozzie Barossa reds .
Me too, Alfredo.
Stand in Line gentlemen !
