Continuing my newfound interest in mini vases, I recently bought this Mandarin red piece. Although not a true mini at a tad under 5" h, it still fits nicely in between the larger pieces in my curio. I really thought I had something when I saw it, as based on the auction photo (last pic), I was certain it was a Mandarin orange vase. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was clear that it was red :( The pulled feather decor is nothing special, but I love the dual tone glass. There's more to the orange Mandarin story, but I'll save that until my next post. As always, thanks for looking.
Oh wow Bill, I haven't even left the page yet and you already loved!! Thanks !
Reflective properties of color ...
Thanks again Bill, and thanks for the love B.B.
Love love love is in the air....This vas is so beautiful and fun! Love it!
I'm so sorry it wasn't what you thought Rick, even though it is a wonderful piece. I have found that my initial disappointment goes after I have had things a while and can assess them on their own merits, not my expectation.
That red!! The glow!! The contrast!! He really is a master.
I think the red is magnificent and love it to bits!
Thanks so much for the lovely comments and love Elisabeth, Karen and Peggy, and thank you for the love Kevin, Mike, Ken, Caper, Silvia, Smiata and Warren... your love and comments are appreciated.
@Karen... My only disappointment was in it not being orange, but I still love it regardless. There's more to the story which I'll explain in a later post.
Oooooooh --- Love the Colors of this. Mandarin Red - Such a Festival Color!! You know how to find them Rick!! I love the last pic better than the first pic -- as it looks more mysterious, and beckoning in the last pic. All Great pics of it. Art, Pure ART !!
Had my eye on a Lotton vase recently but I passed it up for something Bohemian but I have to say you are the influence for me to be looking outside my normal search options. Love this one. I just might make the leap yet.
Thanks so much Mac! I've grown to love his work, and being able to commission a piece makes it extra special! I have a couple of others he recently made for me that I'll be posting soon.
