This 47 page booklet published by The Haskins Service, and issued by The Times-Leader Evening News of Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1949 is a real gem.
Written by Alexander J. Wedderburn , the Curator of Photography at The Smithsonian Institute at the time, it's really a comprehensive study of photography. Of course, things have changed in photography since then, but many of the basic principles still are in force.
The Times-Leader still publishes seven days a week, but it's only had a morning edition for years, reflecting changes in the newspaper industry.
