Amazing what you can get for free!

Well sometimes my work involves surveying empty properties, usual case being the tenant has moved out and the house owner (usually a council or local authority) want to refurbish prior to a new occupant.

A few months ago I did one such property however when I arrived there was a woman there, apparently a friend who was helping to move some items. The living room was empty except for a large writing desk, and I mentioned that it was a nice thing. Then she said "We can't even give that thing away, no one wants it and we haven't got a clue what to do with it". Well as you can see from the pictures, I said "I'll have it!" and she even helped carry it to the car!

It has been sanded and waxed. Looks great!
