No idea about manufacturer...stamped with 102. About 3 inches long. Would really like to know who made it, and a correct name for this type of plane.

Alan.....you sure???? All I can find on a Stanley 102 is a block plane. The closest Stanly I can find to this configuration is s Stanley #101 1/2, which is an instrument maker's plane.

Oops.....sometimes it easy to overlook the obvious. This IS a Stanley 102 block plane that someone modified. Dang. Thought it might be rare, but instead its just junk.

It might a 'bull nose' plane. They are used to get into tight corners so to speak.

If you know what you are doing, this is a very handy plane, contrived or not.
