This is a Welz link to the Truitt's wonderful pair of books on Bohemian Glass (largely 1880-1939).
Only a couple of pages relate to the work of Franz Welz.
Although with a plain rim (not cut obliquely), the shape is the same.
Pink thorn feet. A Welz marker? I am less and less sure of "marker" features as I navigate the glass world, but my judgement would be that this is Welz.
A bit grubby - hard to get into the narrower parts of the body - and 20 cm tall.

I agree that is the same basic shape as the Welz in Truitt and also an example in my collection. Personally, I do not considered the pink foot a marker for their production. It has opalescent ribs which is new to see on a shape I would consider to be by Welz. Nice find!
Oooh - what a great one, Ian! This shape is very elegant. I agree the pink isn't necessarily a marker, but it is a rather unusual shade of pink with a hint of peach that I personally associate with some of Welz's work. I have a thorn vase that I believe is Welz in the same shades of green and pink as yours. This is really a great one - thanks for sharing it!

A German glass collector (Dirk Dreps) was also working on the theory that the hexagonal shape is a Welz marker, but I don't know how far he got with this. Craig?
Christine, I am not aware at this point that we could use that as a marker at all. Honestly, I have identified very few examples of this style of production (thorn, tube, stick vases) which I can definitively say are Welz. I think they made a reasonably large quantity of these, but without distinctive décors or shape markers it is tough.
It was just something Dirk said a while back.
I will have to take a look and see if anything jumps out at me.... I will get a hold of Dirk and see where it took him. Thanks
