Hello Guys (and Gals of course!),
I have just bought this glass flask and wondered if any of you experts out there could give me any information on this? It is leather cased as you can see, and the flask/bottle is teardrop shaped. The seller described it as 1800-1840.
Any ideas as to the age etc....any information would be much appreciated, as I am looking forward to having a little 'drop' of something tasty out of it.
Thanks
Can you post a photo of the bottom of the flask?
Unfortunately, I don't have it yet. I'll post as soon as it is in my hands. Any thoughts so far?
Oh, ok! Well, from looking at the photos the case and bottle look to be from somewhere in the 1800s. Glass was made in a particular way in those days, which is why it's important to be able to see the bottom of the flask. You will know more when it's actually in your hands and are able to examine the stitching and glass close up and personal.
Turn of 20th Century (1900+) if American.
If, say, Italian, probably up till 1920s.
