we found this on a 117 year old farm we bought. Patented Jul 3, 02 (assuming that means 1902). No idea what it is, was, did, or does.

This looks a bit like the parts of a drag saw, but there isn't much to go by despite all the parts shown.

Thank you so much both of you! That seems to be exactly what this is. The house was built in 1898 and being that it is the piney woods of East Texas I imagine there was lots to cut down back then. Now that I know what it is I may be able to recreate most of it if not all depending on how many parts are missing or that we just have not found yet. That saw sure beats a hand saw! Again, thank you for solving my mystery!
