I have posted several of the electric fans made by Al Bersted but he also made many small appliances such as toasters and waffle irons.
This is the Model 11 hot plate. The heating element section is 6" across and it has Bakelite handles.
I am thinking this is pre 1948 as McGraw Electric bought Bersted's companies in 1948 but then Al Bersted becomes CEO of McGraw Electric. I would go with 1940s on this one pus or minus five years.
The Bersted products were known for being cheap and were generally sold 5 and Dimes and drugstores such as Rexhall
Despite the reputation for being cheaply made this one still works as do all my Bersted fans. Perhaps the reputation of cheap is undeserved, let us just say they were inexpensive.
