Considering the hanging ring is on the bottom, indicates that it is probably a shot flask.

Probably very early 1800's thru maybe 187o's.

I believe the largest producer was DIXON in the UK. Many or most found in the States are Dixon. Their stamp would be on the blank side near the top.
buss has it-- I would date it to the middle/ late 19th century due to the decoration on the side.

If it is a Dixon, their markings changed & you can narrow down the date by that.
