My favorite saint - Saint Martin de Porres - the original Dog Whisperer!

This is an old chromolithograph prayer card w/ no words/prayers to it. i've had it for a long time. i love studying the saints and what they were all about and San Martin de Porres is one of [or the first] black saint and he was an amazing animal lover and very humble and sweet person in the late 1500s and 1600s in Peru.

this kind of sums up St Martin de Porres:
'One day an aged beggar, covered with ulcers and almost naked, stretched out his hand, and Martin took him to his own bed. One of his brethren reproved him. Martin replied: “Compassion, my dear Brother, is preferable to cleanliness."'
