a chair to remember

A beautiful old chair found at a small sale painted black several times and it's seat was unattached, it was taken home and underneath all those years of dirt and grime and black paint a young starlet emerged, she has great lines and looks like to dinosaur strolling a young planet, there are deep grooves that run from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. The bottom of her legs have a secondary wood. I do not know more than that and any ideas or comments or speculation as to provenance would be appreciated.
