The first postmaster certificate was given to James R McKinney in 1876. It is still in it's original frame. This Post office was located in Fannin County Georgia on Hwy 2. Mr. McKinney had a general store, mill, post office, etc. The second postmaster certificate is also from the McKinney post office it is dated 1888. My husband obtained them from his cousin who married into the McKinney family, his cousin also sold us ledgers, letters, pictures, and other items from the store and the mill.
