This boar probably died of natural causes perhaps aided by some wild animal friends. The weathering and condition suggests it was out in nature for some time before being found.
The skull is 12" with tusks close to 6" long. A T-Rex had teeth 6" long so those are respectable sized teeth. It would have weighed a couple to few hundred pounds so aside from a grizzly bear would not fear much. Thus old age, accident, illness combination of those probably brought it down.
It is a bit fragile and needs a bit of work before it can be mounted on a wall.
Very cool!! The first wild boar skull I've ever seen.
I've never seen one either! Thanks for sharing!
