A Royal cypher cravat pin, diamonds and gold which was once the property of Prince Alfred, son of Queen Victoria and at one point 2nd in line for the throne.

Whats interesting about this pin is that at the back is a spur, you can't see it from this picture, but the spur acts to lift the cravat to create more of a plume. thus the stick itself is quite long.
Sometimes these are worn when riding, although I personally think thats a bit dangerous!
The design is gothic, and there was a resurgence of that look in the latter Victorian period.
Size wise, it is quite big.. 3/4 on an inch... in diametre.
