    Unmarked gilt silver, 1.5" wide.

It seems to be an Italian landscape...

Did someone recognize the place ?

    UPDATE:

Thanks to Swissvintage for identifying the place!
It is a view of Telkskapelle, on Lucerne lake in Switzerland!

Uh, Roycroft... I'm struggling with my pc and phone to post pics in right way!
No flags in the landscape, in the background is a snowy mountain :-)
      Thank youuuu for your interest!

This is lovely every way round, kyratango, that beautiful little brooch, and the nice work, the grand landscape, this is a true treasure. :)

Agram, I think you are right! I thought swiss enamels were on metal base, not porcelain... But the style is absolutely similar, and I think it is the Mont Blanc in the back ground.
      Solved, thank you! :-)

Kath, I'm delighted with it too, and for $26, lucky to got it :-D
      Thank you!

I guess I'm quite late to post here, but I LOVE it! Soo pretty! May I ask where you picked it up? I love hearing what curious places people find their treasures =) so gorgeous.

Oohh, Rose! Very late to thank you for the 19th love... and kind comment!

Swissvintage, it is so mysterious all the distance old pieces traveled... I bought this from Ebay USA, it was shipped from Maine!
Do you have an idea of the building id? I'd live to be able to situate the view :-)
Thank you for your visit, interesting comment and love :-D

This has bugged me for some time now, and I was lucky enough to stumble on an old postcard in an antiques shop yesterday of Switzerland where I recognised your location :D I think the brooch is a portrait of the Tellskapelle - 'Tell's Chapel' - on the shore of Lake Lucerne at the foot of the Axenberg cliffs in Switzerland :) :)

      What do you think...?

It's so fun to find such things by accident =) and nice to have a context of where your item has come from. You will now need to book a holiday there to explore :p it's meant to be!

Swissvintage, FANTASTIC!!! You got it, it is indeed the Tellskapelle!!!

Thank you so much for identifying it and let me know :-D

I'm updating this post and adding pic of the location and a painting of the Tellskapelle.

Too late for visiting the Lucerne lake... I was on vacation not far, but left before your comment!

That's incredible. Imagine all the postcards in all the antique shops, and one day Swissvintage walks into this shop, and voila! There it is! That's an amazing story. The trees have grown a little haven't they?

A truly lovely enamel brooch with silver surround! Congrats Kyra and Swissvintage.

What a beautiful place to have your prayer heard--not to say it isn't heard just where you are.

Wow Kyra, what fantastic news finding out where the beautiful vista of this wonderful brooch. Swissvintage well done on your research.

Gillian, indeed! Hazard is a great help when you remember what you are looking for ;-)
Thank you for your kind comment!

It seems forests increased since 19th century, little herds of cattle are less present, and no more wandering, so young trees are no more eaten and can fully grow.

      Lois, sure, thank you!

Jean, thank you, the views of Swiss lanscapes with lakes, mountains and so pretty monuments are fascinating, it is easy to understand Victorians brought them back from their "Grand Tour" as souvenirs!
      Again, kudos to Swissvintage :-))
