Unfortunately I know very little about this brooch, except that it is from Germany and it was an heirloom so it seems reasonable to assume that it has some age to it. I bought it because it seemed to be so very art deco! It is not marked in any way so I assume it is made of pewter. I also assume that the little stones are made of glass - but perhaps some of the jewelry experts in this forum have a better guess?
Dimensions: 5 x 2.7 cm
stunning Jensen!!
Such a pretty brooch! The clear stones on either end make for a very nice accent.
The little black stones are, I very much think are rhinestones. A rhinestone, paste or diamante is a diamond simulant made from rock crystal, glass or acrylic. Mmmmmm, will have to go read up on rhinestones.
Thanks for the usefuld comments (and the loves), everyone!
So pretty neat 1930' design!
Gillian is right for the stones :-)
Thanks, kyra!
Ran across this brooch again, and remarkably it's still here, and just as gorgeous as it was the first time.
I just love it.
