(185 items)
This past weekend I attended an auction that advertised a few good Coke items but had much more to consider when I got there. I had to keep my mortgage in mind before I tried to be highest bidder on all I wanted.
I did get one item I planned on bidding on which was the 1960's adjustable push bar (pg 228 of Petretti's guide, 12th edition). There was another push bar there but when the bid went over $150, I kept my hand down.
One item that I "needed" for my collection was the 1947-52 4" wide porcelain palm press (pg 227). Now I have both 'come in' and 'thank you'.
The 1958 Moko Lesney toy delivery truck without the box (page 290), and the 1950's miniature cardboard six pack (sim. to what is on pg 521) were two items I got for a good deal, and didn't know I wanted them before I got there.
I'm happy I can share these with you, as I feel it's been a while since I posted some good stuff.
The elastic band around the mini six pack it to prevent a tear from getting bigger.
All great. Partial to the Coke truck as I am a matchbox collector
I agree, 4 very nice pieces. My favorite is the palm push. Those are hard to come by and can bring a premium at auction. The door push is super as well. Fine scores all, CK.
Thanks guys! I got lucky on the matchbox truck. Condition drew me to it. Those palm presses usually go for a couple of hundred more than what I payed. The bar is one I have not seen available before, so had to have it.
Hope all is well gentlemen.
Like them all and always tempting at an auction to keep the hand up. You either leave ticked off or somewhat happy. In your case, you should be thrilled to have found a palm press locally.
glad I was working Saturday or I would've been there with my hand up also cckid!!
looks like ya got some great deals,
cheers!!

I am thrilled Edison, thanks!
Auction cleared out early with plenty of good Coke items to be had for us who waited to the end. Thanks Bern.
Very nice scores:)
Thanks Trey!
