This is a sturdy oak rocker that I received from my Great Aunt who was born in 1912. I do not know when she acquired it or if it had been in her family. Her father was a carpenter, but the under side of the seat has a spot that looks like a commercial label might have been there (photo).
The chair is very sturdy and stable. It is 25" tall. Seat height is 10.75". Seat size is 15"x13.5". It has one seemingly repair on the rocker where the back of the right back leg is attached (photo). There are screws on the vertical back members where the arms and seat attach as well as where the from arm strut attaches to the seat (photo). Otherwise, the joints are fitted and secure.
I would love to know anything about this chair; time period, manufacturer, historic significance, etc!
Thank you!
