My grandmother's father found this piece in a dumpster YEARS ago and I'm trying to find out about it. I've tried looking online to see if their is any history to it or what the value of this might be. When my daughter is old enough and has her first daughter it will be passed down to her. This is being passed down to the first daughter of each generation. Any info would be appreciated!

hi--this looks like a CAPODIMONTE italian figurine.is there any marking on the bottom of it?if it is a capodimonte you,re very lucky. the old ones are hard to find.

      sourgrapes-
Their is a making on the bottom. It's 2 arrows that are crossed with the numbers S 8452 under it. I don't know what is worth. My great grandfather found it in the trash!

Without seeing the actual mark, the hallmark you are describing, two arrows and a number, sounds like Arnart.

The marking is the top right picture. I'm trying to get a value on it. It's in great condition. Nothings broke and the colors are still bright

Yes, this is one of the first Arnart hallmarks, there would have been a foil label which would have read Original Arnart Creation Japan, made between 1953 - 1957.

Oh and I should be clear, when I said "made", Arnart was and is an importer, not a producer, in their early days they imported items from England and Germany and Japan, before importing entirely from Japan.

So what the value of this piece? My grandmother passed away Nov. 11 of last year. My mom has been trying to find the value of this for a very long time.

Kalk Porcelain Eisenberg, Thuringia Germany, or later production

The mark is not Kalk, it is Arnart, as explained in the link. :)
