An 80 yr old friend has this item her father found in a trash can when she was just a small child---she's kept it all these years not knowing what it is. It looks to me like the sort of decorative celluloid that ladies' vanity set items were made from, but we cannot for the life of us figure out a use for it. It's not sturdy nor concave enough to be a shoe horn, it's too large for use in hair styling, I think. The pink decoration on the outer side may be either rosebuds or small pink circles (fruit?).

That was one of my first thoughts, too, but because of its smooth surface, and no way to actually attach to fabric or a wall/window mount, I can't see how it would hold. But have you seen a swag/rod shaped like this? She keeps asking me if anyone "on the computer" has come up with an answer! I'd love to be able to tell her what it is! Thanks.
