Well, I must say -- researching this clock has been the most frustrating thing of all. Do any CW clock experts have any Imhof knowledge? This clock is rather small but weighs a ton; was purchased in Switzerland. I know this clock is not old, but finding any history on Imhof has been quite impossible - a mystery. Would appreciate any insight/knowledge on this particular clock. Thanks for helping; thanks for looking.

Arthur Imhof's Company manufactured high quality timepieces. I'd call your clock's case style a hybrid between the Crystal Regulator and Carriage Clock. In my experience, it's distinctive. There is currently as listing on eBay for an ImHof 1965 printed advertisement which showcases a clock very similar to yours. It's an active ad so I can't provide a link but if you search eBay for "1965 Imhof Clock Company Switzerland Vintage 1965 Swiss Ad" it should come right up and you can compare for yourself.

That's all I could find and based on that, I would tend towards that era. I know of no reference material on the company so you may have to search for and through whatever ads or catalogs you can dig up.

You may also try the NAWCC's message board (http://mb.nawcc.org/) "Clocks General" forum to see if any Clock Collectors there can provide more information to you.

Of course, there's always the possibility that someone here can help you further.

Hope that helps a little. Sorry I couldn't be more definitive for you.

Nice example. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you, Bruce: the only thing I could find on Arthur Imhof was that he eventually went bankrupt; other than that there's zero info about him on the Internet. But appreciate your input and will check the reference you've given. Thanks to you and fortapache for loving.
