Chinese Gilt Sterling Silver Filigree Nail Guard changed into a brooch.

Most interested collectors have seen them once. In the old Chinese culture they were used as nail guards and were a symbol of status. Because they showed that the women did not have to work. So they were used by very wealthy and great ladies, even the Chinese empresses of course. They bore it made of gold and precious gems, but also almost every concubine is wearing them!
