This hat has a bullion embroidered badge that differs from the usual design.
The crown is larger than usual and the anchor is made out of sheet metal rather than bullion, which I have never come across. Also the bar on the anchor is supposed to be at an angle; this one is quite perpendicular to the main shaft. Might this be a wartime model made in England? As we know, the British cap badge has traditionally always had a metal anchor at its centre. I've added some reference pictures as to the usual design and the British equivalent.

Of course I luv it since I have been living in Dutch territory for (UH!) - 36 yrs. And NO, I don't use a bowl to cut my hair! Yet! Actually, the "cross-tree" on this style anchour is perpendicular. It is often shown at an angle to give a 3-D effect.
