    Hello,

I have a Seth Thomas Clock and would love to know roughly when it was Manufactured. The movement is stamped "S. Thomas Plymouth Conn USA".

Not looking to sale, just curious to how old it is.

It is my favorite clock and has a great sound.

Any information would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Update: Height is 26 1/8" from top to bottom and 15 5/8" at the base.

My reference (Tran Duy Ly) has it as circa 1863 but he further states that the case style was popular 1850 so it evidently had a pretty long production run.

You're very welcome Tennessee. I'm happy I was able to help you in some way. One of our daughters graduated from Vanderbilt. Beautiful area of the Country. She loved it. Hope you'll stick around. C.W. is a great resource for collectors.

I don't get out to Nashville that often. East Tennessee and Western North Carolina are my stomping grounds. Musky, Smallmouth, and Trout!

I do some metal detecting around our area on private land and go rummaging around the antique stores every once in a while. I'm sure I will have a lot more mysteries for C.W. to solve in the future. Thanks again Bruce99 for the help and warm welcome.
