When I first saw the P-40 on the building in this pix I knew I had to find a cool plane and put it on a building. Old guys are Dreamers, but we make them come true! With the new addition of the American sign next to the building we tell the story even better. I love this P-51 and it came from a real war heros collection in NC. We also love the hunt. I'm told that the P-40 in the pix was located in Washington and was obviously owned by a wealthy collector. Unfortunately the plane is gone as are all the cool items in the building. Finding free "museums" is getting harder and harder to do but this was a very cool one until a few years ago.
The Lakeside Storage free Museum makes all its collections available for the public to see, take pix of and enjoy as a reminder of "the good ol days"
P-40 I believe. No P-48's were built.

Thx for the correction & love it. I fixed it.
Love this. I would love to go by there and really look at everything. So much fun and history too!
Is this a full size P-51 or is the guy in pix #2 exceptionally big?
Shareurpassion,
We would love to have you come and visit the Collection. Our doors are open! Thx for the love it
Blunderbuss2,
This is a 3/4 size Carbon Fiber racing version made in 69 I think?

From the 1st time you posted it, I knew something was out of proportion. The 3 blade prop. made me wonder too.
Blunderbuss2,
U are the first one to mention the prop & the pilot. The pilot is wearing a real WWII Air Force leather helmet that I got from a Surplus store in LA in the early 60s. I have a 4 blade prop for the plane but it isn't the right one so I just used this one which is right for the earlier models. Nice catch!
Never mentioned the "pilot"? The leather will not last long in the sun everyday.
Rattle, I have been an A&P with AI rating since 1968. (that's Airframe & power plant tech. with Inspectors Authorization). A&P since '67. 48 yrs is a long time to be around planes (including P-51's) without knowing them fairly well. LOL!!. I've known Paul Tibbets, Ed Link, Frank Borman etc., but Bevo Howard's acquaintance, I hold dear. Never heard of him? Look him up. Guinness too.
babbling now & this isn't fb.
