Here is an item I have recently bought that is not your typical antique. I know little about it but it looks very old and completly hand made by a ancient metalsmith. It is a all metal bowl that has iron grips and either a bronze or brass bowl (i do not think it is cooper). It has been repaired a few times with what looks like cooper rivets. The bottom of the bowl has obvious soot on it, so it was used for cooking over an open fire. None of it is cast.
To me it looks like it came from a archeological dig as some part of some GRAVE GOODS OFFERINGS, but I have no proof of that. I love archeology and when I saw this bowl I was instanly drawn to it. I do not know which category to post this to becasue it does not seem to fit into any current categories.
I would like any suggestions as to its age and origins.
