I am in absolute awe of this book. Not usually being a book guy. This moves me.
As you can see it's pretty old and I'm going to take it to a professional book binder if there are any of those people left. The cover is real shaky and can come off pretty easy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should store this.

I hope you like it. I also hope someday my kids go back to church. These days kids are compelled or feel any responsibility to go to church. That's cool with me as I believe that you shouldn't judge. But I can still hope!

Oh, trust me, it's not in that bad of shape. I restore books, and that is a very easy fix in my realm compared to some. That is a Family Bible, dating to the last half of the 1800s. Many on Google are saying "1860s," but I'd think more like the golden age for family Bibles: 187o-1900. This one is Catholic. I'd have to see it to say with any certainty a decade, but that's my two bits. Search through it carefully. You may find a few things in the pages. I do often when I get ahold of these. I've not seen this exact one in person, but I have seen it a few times before online. It almost always sells for a good price. I stopped bidding on one when it went to $100, for I buy to fix up. And the one definitely needed fixing.
Most have a page like that Glory To God one, although it's usually a few of the Commandments or another part of Scripture. I will admit, though, that that is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. My eyes nearly exploded when I blew the picture up.

As for how to store it, I have mine in a cupboard aying flat (before restoration. After, they're strong enough to let sit up.) It's dark, to prevent fading; cool and dry to prevent mildew; and separated from touching other books with thin cloth-- even books get transmissible diseases. I'm battling that with one rare Bible right now. Yours looks healthy.

      Spirit,
I can't tell you how much that means to me. I just love it. You know when I turn 40 I'm 50 now I designed a cross for a tattoo. I'm thinking about that glory to God for another tattoo. My partying and fun days are over so I got I have my fun somewhere. I can't say again how much I appreciate your input on that fix ,
I'm excited to get it done. I hope you have a great day and appreciate your post

I hope it provides you with great joy. They're always a delight, but I must warn you that most professionals charge a very high price even on the simplest of fixes. As long as you're not messing with it, it should last-- like God's word should be, it was built to last. After all, a Family Bible was for a family, and children are little ruffians even then. LOL.
      Have a great day.
