    Here is another item from an estate, that I can not identify. This teapot is 7" high, has a spout with 2" bend, 4 1/2"across the lid which has a steam hole, and an design on the front near the bottom.

    There was an old hand written small note in the box of goodies that had the word, "Hamada."

    There are more dishes and cups with this green design. Thanks for any feedback.

      It is possibly by Shoji Hamada (1894-1978) recognised as one of Japan's national treasures.
      This looks like it is ash glazed and hand finished, typical of his work.

      Shoji Hamada was an influential Japanese potter....a lot of potters do his style and techniques. So very important to post pics of bottom because the could be "Hamada" style but not by him. Check the lower rim for marks also.
      If your not able to see a mark with the naked eye.....high light the piece with powder / baking soda and a mark may show where you didn't see one :)

      With that being said....I love this!
