Has Stamp/ signature cannot make out... I really like the design an would love to know who made it...

It is small... about 4 inches across. i think it is more Mexican but did not see a category for that...

UPDATE: Ok i rubbed some charcoal on it... i still cannot make it out... it looks only partially stamped...

From left to right it looks like ISCH...

The second word looks like STEFAN

    Thanks Guys! =)

Pamela rubbing some graphite onto the signature will help you (and us) read it.
      Great bird!

Thank you for the tip! Can i use ash from the fireplace?

Yep - anything dark and powdery that will wash off later.

I think the last stamp on the bottom is incomplete. It looks like it should be Horezu. That's the name of a town in Romania where they produce a lot of traditional pottery. If I come across a specific person or company that lines up with the Stefan part of the stamp, I'll add another post with the full name. Hope this helps!

I think the first name on the stamp is going to be Mischiu.
    7. swfinluv1 swfinluv1, 9 years ago
It's probably Stefan Mischiu. I typed 'Horezu Stefan Mischiu rooster' into Google, selected 'images' and found some similar items. Unless you want to pore through a lot of Romanian websites, you may want to stick with the Pinterest entries or the pics. : )

      You're welcome!

Sometimes I buy inexpensive signed items at Goodwill just because I want to decipher the signature. What can I say? I like both sides of the 'hunt'! : ).
