This was the new item on the shelf in the purple section at Salvation today. It's a very large and impressive piece of Viking glass from their "Epic" line. At 20" from end to end and quite shallow at only 3" deep. It looks like they just grabbed the ends and pulled and stretched it to it's present shape. The base is oval with nice corners formed from the stretched ribbon detail. The bottom has a polished base rim and a sunken oval center. There's some minor nicks and flea bites to the crisp edge of the base on one side, but you can't really see it unless you flip it over. It can be found in Dean Six's book "Viking Glass 1944-1970" on page 92. -Mike-
I have seen something like this before MIKE, I just need to think on it -- as it is not on my brain at the moment......have a headache
Thanks Rose...sorry you have a headache :(...My guesses were Chalet but their pieces are chunky and really sparkle with the heavy lead content. Then I though Cofranc because I have a huge wavy piece of that but it's mark is acid etched on the bottom. So maybe Val St. Lambert. Of course not Murano so I'm out of guesses :)
Wow. Impressive, but not Japanese!
I am quicking thinking it MIGHT be Viking or Tiffin ( but I could be wrong on those Quick thoughts ). My head is not working right now -- let me think on it -- as I KNOW I have seen this before......somewhere ???
i just do not have a good memory......Have a headache from shoveling Snow here as I have neck issues here. YES, it came and still coming down !!
Thanks Karen and Rose.....sorry you got the snow Rose. It missed us completely here on the lake shore in central Ohio. Father east towards Pennsylvania is the snow belt here. They got hammered and so did Detroit where most of my relatives live. Close to 10". We're looking forward to a mild snow free winter till about February.
I absolutely love this!!
Here Here on a mild winter. Ugh, it's awful after 16 years on the Gulf. Your finds are so good it really makes me want to come up there. Dang.NO.OMG.

Thanks OneGoodFind for the "love" and nice comment. I try to find something unique everyday but sometimes it's just not in the cards especially around the holidays.
Nice one Mike, they do same here, separate glass shells by colors.
They seem to have this system for a while.
Alan
Thanks Alan.... It does make it handy for tracking down certain pieces. :)
@Mike -- See, I knew I had seen something like it ....was thinking it might be Viking in Post # 10 -- and Now you do have a Positive ID Thanks to SWFINLUV1.
Thanks for the True ID -- SWFIN
Mike, what a beautiful piece of Viking glass! Is this your book? If so, I have a Viking bowl on a thread here, I would appreciate a positive ID on it, pls. :)
