(1 item)
I have this great old functioning Drewry's Lamp in my bar. Have had it for years since it was made in my home town of South Bend, IN. by the Plasto MFG company. It is about 17" tall and still is a great conversation piece. I am wondering how old it may be? Any comments.
Well they stopped making this in 1972 so its a least 43 yes old.
I've aso seen a chalk ware similar to this from the 1950s. One recently sold at auction for over 700.
Thanks...Good to know age. What is chalk???
Not to sure what it is exactly kind of like porcelain that's what the add said the figure was made from.( Chalk ware)
Apparently chalkware is an American term for molded plaster figurines.
Here is some items similar -- with the Canadian Mountie and the same Beer.

Chalk or chalkware is actually plaster of Paris. Based on the logo located on the shade, this item is from the 50's. The chalkware statue itself is frequently auctioned on ebay (search"Drewrys" in breweriana category). Not a very high value because of how common it is - maybe $50 in good condition. With lamp it may go a bit higher. Hope this helps.
