Can anyone tell me how to replace the candle in this lamp? There is a spring mechanism to feed a candle up as it burns but I can't find a way to insert a new candle. Thanks in advance!

There should be a cap at the top that you have to push down and twist off a quarter turn. (like a child proof bottle cap) You should see a small protruding dot that holds that in place. Sometimes they are corroded a bit which makes it very difficult. Then the candle stub and spring should come out. You may need to use some heat to loosen the dried wax which often gets the spring and twist cap gunked up. These were also called student lamps long ago. Often British made.
