I sometimes consider these really big glass vases in relation to the Japanese culture of BIG things, like Godzilla. Not that these were affected by nuclear radiation and mutated however!
I don't know who made this big girl.
She is very beautiful: black glass, blue spatter, bits of mica for glitter, and a lovely natural shape.
She is getting on now: like my Marti big vases she is close to 60 years old I guess but still looking good for it.
Love your last big girl, and her "roundness" and this night remind color :-))
Beautiful colours again, but so different in other ways. Lovely restrained use of mica!
I truly love this one!! This is really GREAT!!!
Yes, this is my favorite :)
This is really pretty. The opening is made in the same manner as the glass vase I posted some days ago - very thick. No clue how old mine is or where it came from. I did manage to get nearly all of the calcium cloud off the inside. :-)
Kyra it is a night vase, thanks!
Restrained is not a word often used with this era Japanese glass Peggy but you are right. The mice is gorgeous.
Scott and Mike - thanks for always loving my stuff and commenting so well.
Glad you like them so much.
Thanks Bonnie.
I had another look at your vase. The lip is like these thickly cased Japanese vases but the decor is not Japanese. I'm wondering if it is not early Chinese...they too had this rolled lip.
