Bought at french antique site, not a bargain but honestly priced... On this site, prices lowest each 2 weeks, it had just appeared and I wanted it so badly I didn't took the risk it could fly away ;-))
1.3/4" by 1.1/8" or 4.5 by 3 centimeters, 18k gold, rosecut diamonds set on silver, natural button pearl, ruby eyes, plique à jour enamel. Date around 1880.
The brooch system unscrew to use as hair ornament with an hair pin.
As seen on pic#2, plique enamel was broken in two places, black stripe on body had little damage and 2 diamonds were lacking.
KYRATISED ;-))

Kyra, This is just incredible looking! You did a fab job on the repair, as usual!!!
Best ever is right ! What a beauty ! :)
So, so lovely. Delicate wings. How long did it take you to repair this? You must have a steady hand, and an eye for just the right colour and stones. I think it would have waited for you if you had left if a couple of weeks - but oh the risk of losing it to someone else. We would've been denied the privilege of seeing it. Thank you Kyra for not waiting.
Gilian, it took about half an hour :-)
I backed the damaged areas with tape and applied UK curing resin in tiny drop, colored with permanent marker, then another thin layer of resin.
I'm lucky enough to have antique rosecut spare diamonds which can easily be set if right size!
My other luck is to have a sharp view for tiny working ;-)
Thank you for your appreciation of my Bzz Bzz!
