I always wanted flying pigs. Last summer, I bought these in a local antique and brocante market. I paid 10 bucks for the three. Not entirely sure they are antiques, as there seem to be so many around, so still need to do some investigating.
There was money inside.....
After getting home and working up a sweat trying to open these banks, I finally succeeded.
There was 12.75 in currency inside.
My money back + 2.75 profit.
How about that.
Thanks for looking!
Lol! They are a charming "free buy"!
You really are the queen ;-)
So, these are the flying pigs you mentioned the other day. They are AWESOME!!!! I love these!
And a profit to boot!!!! Wow, these must be lucky pigs.
jscotto363 - yep, that is them. When I was a little girl in the early 1950s, my grandpa had a cast iron piggy bank from a bank in NY. When my grandma died in 1987, someone in the senior citizens apartment complex where they had lived entered the apartment (with a key!) and stole that bank. I hope it fell off their shelf and hit them right on top of their thieving head. Grrrr.....
They are new, but how cool is that, more money inside than they cost.
AzTom - makes it totally worthwhile. In 50 years, they will be vintage - LOL!
I agree with AZTom new pieces made to look old but they are cute and so fun :-)
Ha ha!! This is awesome!!
I'm a bit afraid of Karma but Karma? LOL
P.S. I've never stolen anything but I can be less than perfect..sometimes. :0)
When pigs fly piggy banks, I'd never seen one, what cuties!!! :)
I'm sorry for what happened to your grandparents' bank, Bonnie, but I do like your idea of karma!! :P
