I found the very fragile label fragment stuck inside this pitcher. I found this pitcher and the luster teapot at Urban Ore in Berkeley today. i had to glue both of them a little, but i think this is a really beautiful piece - despite a few chips. what do you all think? 1750s?
Known as copper lusterware. Pearl Luster pitcher from 1750?? I think more like 1800s. I have had to glue pieces before and on this piece I would use copper colored eyeshadow or nail polish, covered in a clear coating, to hide the joins. A very nice find!
thank you Efes! i was just going by the little note. i have no idea, really.
i think that the bottom glaze decoration makes this one very special. reminds me of a mocha design, but i don't know the name of it. it's very beautiful - nicer than the photos depict.
