This is a very pretty little ring. Too bad it is too small for my fingers. It was made/sold by a very well-known Canadian firm, Birks. Based on the style of the ring, I would date it to the first half of the last century.

I am not sure what the stones are. They kept their sparkle over the years and therefore I don’t think they are rhinestones. I also don’t think that they are diamonds, because the ring is silver, and it seems to me a very unlikely thing to set them in a silver ring. So, the question remains: What are the stones?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for looking:)

unfoiled paste was used at the time...it can stay pretty sparkly?

Thanks for your comment, themuse. I was also thinking that it might be rock crystal. However, I have no idea how to tell the difference between glass, rock crystal, and anything else that sparkles :)

a gem tester can tell between leaded crystal (paste) and rock crystal. If you happen to have one laying around lol. Its the only way I know of at least
