orlandocli…
(1 item)
For whatever reason I happened to look at my couch end table one afternoon and saw this sitting there amongst the dust and other items. I cannot for the life of me remember where or when I aquired it. I took it to the sink and rinsed all the dust off and found it to be a very nice piece. I believe its an ink pot or brush pot. There's a rooster on the front and a hen on the back. As you can see there are two figures, one on either side. One has a scroll and the other a paint brush. At first I thought he was sweeping up the thing. The both appear to have on mask. It is very heavy and you can tell that the base was made to sit down into something to hold it in place and so it could be removed easily for emptying. Anyway there she is. There is a mark inside but I don't read Chinese. The detail as well as the color is much better than my pictures show. Enjoy!
Looks to be bronze. That's a good sign. I hope somebody comes along who can help with this. It's a very nice object!!!
