This is by far my favorite of all my buckles. Its made with layers of metal roof create a 3D image. It was a gift from a dear friend. I hope to go to the rodeo one year and get another made in the same way.
Are you from Louisiana? I've never been to the Annual Angola Rodeo, however, it's a very big deal here in the state!! I know people who go every year and absolutely love it.
I checked the website and they refer to "inmate hobbycraft" being sold at the rodeo; but they don't itemize what's for sale. It's a very nice buckle though, definitely a keeper!
That is a nice keeper. Talked to a guy who was in Angola & he told me that they had conjugal visits with wives & girlfriends. Don't think I want to confirm that! LOL!
Blunderbuss2, your friend sounds like my friend who went to Vietnam and only tells hooker stories. Angola is known as one of the toughest prisons in the world. Most never made it out alive for one reason or another. But its a fate I would never want as well.
CaddyGirl, I knew that friend fairly well! He said they had 2 or 3 mobile homes/ trailers for conjugal visits for "well behaved".
Hey, I was in the army in 68-70 & have plenty of those other stories, without even going to Nam! LOL!!
