Picked up this Woodmere China platter at our local auction. I searched the National First Ladies Library website, and googled till my eyes hurt and could not find this exact platter anywhere. Dinner plates, yes, cups & saucers yes, but no 11" platter.
Finally contacted the researchers at Replacements.com, and they gave me a dollar value for insurance purposes and requested permission to use my photo on their website since they did not have one for this piece.
The results seem to indicate I do much better selecting pieces of china than I do cast iron. What I bought for $5.00 at auction has a replacement value as of today of $109.95. Score!
