Any body seen anything like this before? It's made of pottery and stands just 5 inches high (12 cm) It is 2 inches (7 cm) at its widest part. Inside it is hollow. The only access is through the hole by the trough that runs around the object. Is it an oil lamp if so where does it come from and how does it work? I would be grateful for your thoughts.

This is pottery, not china. I've never come across anything remotely like it. The top half looks like a bowling pin. I'd be interested to see if anyone here does know what it is!

ho2 - I do believe you hit the nail on the head! Here I spent 3 years in Turkey, could see the mosque from my balcony and didn't recognize this item. Shame on me....

OK It looks like a minaret but it's only 5 inches so what was this used for?

      Probably just decoration.

      A tourist piece, perhaps.
