This is a small vase with buff enamelling which has fine lines of gilding on either side. The petals are glossy white and the berries are highly raised. The strong iridescence has a craquelure look to it. Gilding loss to the polished rim.....
Height 12.5 cm./4.75 inches
You've taken a great photo ! Both a colour and an iridescence are clearly visible.
Thank you Ivonne. This vase has only one flower, but the iridescence has come out so differently on pics 1 and 4.....just noticed!
Thank you for the loves, Caperkid, Ivonne, welzebub, Radegunder, vetraio, blunderbuss, swfinluv, aura and nutsabotas. All much appreciated.
Sweetheart of a vase.
Gorgeous photos too Peggy, really really well done!
Lovely iridescence Peggy! You've done a great job of defining the horizon in the last pic... Love it!
Beautiful!!!
sklo, this is lovely Rindskopf! I have only ever seen two other vases in this decor and color before. I love the simplicity of the enamel work against the teal background. And you did a terrific job of capturing its iridescence, too!
All the above, and Green wow, totally agree, your pictures and vase is just wondefull.
Alan
Karen, thank you so much.....and yes it's a little love of a vase :-)
Rick, thank you for a lovely compliment......I'll take 'defining the horizon' as a skill to be wished for.....
SEAN, short and sweet.....thank you lots!
Michelle, as a Rindskopf expert your comments are greatly appreciated, thank you:-)
Alan, what a generous comment, thank you too!
Peggy... I received an email from a photography student explaining how the gradient paper I use does such a great job of defining the horizon in some of my pics. He pointed me to a youtube video which demonstrates how to achieve the look without using gradient paper. It looks like you've done this solely by use of lighting. Great job!
Beautiful!..beautiful!! vase!...:-)
Rick, photography terms and techniques are a foreign country for me! I just experiment. But yes these were taken in natural light.....
Many thanks, inky.....:)
